綺麗に折りたたまれて長持ちに入っていたモノ、、ではなく、その横の木桶に保管されていたご飯茶碗を包むための使われていました。

Antique Japanese Indigo BORO Textile – Patchwork Futon Cover
This is an authentic BORO (patched textile) from rural Japan, made by hand from indigo-dyed cotton and striped fabrics. Such textiles were 新品 from the late Edo to Meiji period (19th–early 20th century), embodying the philosophy of mottainai – repairing and reusing precious cloth over generations.
•Size: approx. 155.5 cm × 155.5 cm (square)
